Thomas E. Bengtson berättar:"Edna was born on 6 Apr 1893 in
Monmouth, Warren, Illinois. Edna was born to August Theodor e
Melburg (born July 6, 1864) and Bessie Liman (born February 19,
1861). She was their only daughter, but had three brot hers;
Leonard, later of Riverside, California, Arthur of Oquawka, and
Ernest of Ames, Iowa. Her parents came to Monmouth , Illinois,
from Sweden in the 1860s. Herfather was a tailor shop merchant.
She was baptized on 2 Jul 1893.1 She was con firmed on 26 May 1907
in Mon mouth, Warren, Illinois.Edna graduated in 1912 in Monmouth,
Warren, Illinois.5 Edna graduated from Monmouth High School . She
died on 30 Nov 1995 at the age of 102 in Mason City, Iowa. Her
residence atdeath was given as Monmouth, Warren, Il linois 61462.
She was buried on 9 Dec 1995 in Monmouth, Warren, Illinois. Edna
was buried in Monmouth Cemetery. Funera l services were held at
Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel in Monmouth. Edna had Social Security
Number 319-38-2138. Edna atten ded Willits School in Monm outh.
After her high school graduation she enrolled in the Conservatory
of Art at Monmouth College.She painted landscape s and still life
paintings, and also enjoyed the delicate art of china painting.She
was devoted to her family, home, an d church, and was active in
civic affairs. From December 1993 until her death she had been a
patien t at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City, Iowa."
