Enligt tidningsnotis: "Mrs. Nels A. Matson of 501 South Fifth
Street died at Monmouth hospital at 5 a.m. Monday. She had been a
patient ther e since March 19. "Born in Monmouth August 13, 1881,
Eva May Palmer was the daughter of Stephen and Ann (Furr) Palmer.
She was reared in M onmouth and on December 9, 1903 [sic] she
married Nels A. Matson in this city."Mrs. Matson was a member of
the First Lut heran church and her life interests were her home
and outdoor life. She is survived by the widower and two sisters,
Mrs . Lee J. Sharp of Monmouth and Mrs. Charles McGrath of Rock
Island, nieces and nephews. "Funeral services will be held at 2
p.m. Wednesday at the Turnbull Funeral Home in charge of the Rev.
Raymond Swanson, p astor of the First Lutheran church. Burial will
be in Monmouth cemetery. ..."
